Rensselaer – Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Allee,
83, died in Scott Nursing Home, Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. She had been
ill six years and a patient in the home three months. Born in Pike County,
Kentucky, she lived at Greencastle where she went to public school before
beginning her 50-year-residence here. She was married in 1898 to Daniel Allee
who died in 1941. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are five
daughters, Mrs. Hazel Barnhart, Mrs. Ethel Vaughn and Mrs. Roxie Day all of
Rensselaer, Mrs. Edna Keen of Lafayette and Mrs. Flossie Yeager in Alabama;
four sons, Ernest of Rensselaer, Everette of Medaryville, Charles of Greensburg
and Lowell of Hammond and a sister, Mrs. Ancanda Steele of Greencastle. - kbz
